Has worked as Head Pro/Director of Tennis at clubs in Texas, Georgia, Florida, and West Virginia
Created a tennis program known as the Barr Method in association with Christie and Associates. The program was used in business seminars with Fortune 500 companies at different locations in Boca Raton, Florida, Steamboat Spring, Colorado, Cincinnati, Ohio, Chicago, Illinois, & St. Thomas, Virgin Islands
The Charleston Tennis Club is pleased to announce the hiring of Rico Williams as our Director of Advanced Junior Tennis. His first day in the position will be Monday, June 5, 2023.
Most recently, Rico served as the Head Tennis Professional at the YMCA of the Kanawha Valley since 2017. He has personally coached over 10 juniors who would go on to play collegiate tennis on scholarship. Prior to the YMCA, Williams served as the Director of Junior Tennis at both the Ashland Tennis Center and the Ritter Park Tennis Center.
Williams was a four-year varsity collegiate tennis player for the University of Charleston. As the team’s captain, he led the men’s tennis program to its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Williams earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from UC in 2012.
